FAQ

How does the 90/180 rule work?

On any day, look back 180 days (including that day). You can have spent at most 90 of them in the Schengen area. It's a rolling window, not a calendar half-year.

Do entry and exit days count?

Yes. The day you enter and the day you leave both count as full days in the Schengen area.

Does a new visa reset my 90 days?

No. Days already spent in the last 180 days still count, even if you get a new visa.

Which countries count?

All 29 Schengen countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Cyprus and Ireland are not in Schengen.
